Industrial Photography Art = IPA

Not really! IPA is the highly regarded International Photography Awards, but they did select my recent industrial art series for an award in their 2010 contest.

After years of shooting in industrial spaces, I've grown to appreciate the lines of the pipes, the glint of the metal, and the shadows and highlights of the dim yet contrasty lighting. So I shot a study of the spaces as a personal project, experimenting in my digital darkroom with new techniques that enhanced the texture of the metal and the blue-green color of the lighting.

I liked the results, and so did IPA. The entire series can be viewed on my
website or on IPA's gallery in the honorable mention category, "Architecture: Interior."
